CLIENT: FIRST INITIATIVE FOUNDATION
The "Make Time for Giving" watch initiative is a project of First Initiative Foundation (FIF). Mentored by Michelle Ong and created in conjunction with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University School of Design, sale proceeds will go to benefit design education and charitable initiatives in the community.
FIF has organized and supported an exciting proactive project. The Foundation has produced two watches designed in conjunction with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Design. Michelle Ong acted as a mentor to students working on this project.
From August 2011, the watches with FIF branding were sold to the public through various retail outlets in Hong Kong. They were featured at a FIF kickoff press conference in August in Hong Kong, and at a Hong Kong Tourism Board supported and FIF presented the event in London in September.
Chairman Michelle Ong drew upon her wealth of jewelry designing experience to mentor students from School of Design.
Eason Chan, the famous singer in Hong Kong, was invited to be the Youth Ambassador of FIF.
All sales proceeds go back to the Foundation and will be used to support a Scholarship in design at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and other appropriate charitable initiatives.
The project fulfills FIF's mission in that it supports art and design education directly and elevates Hong Kong design education through mentoring and community exposure. In addition, it is a tangible representation of the work of FIF.
